Hello there, as a student do you like to travel?
Here are some short tips how to do it within your budget.
Analyse the transport. Not every journey is by plane. Nowadays we have the ability to use such variety of public transport. Buses of FlixBUS can take you all over Europe and if you find a sale it might be the cheapest journey of your life. Be aware of seasonal prices, during Christmas going on so called "cheap trip" is almost impossible. While booking any transport do it a bit earlier. Polish railways have huge discount if you do it as I said. Remember about your student ID, it must be valid and with you if you want any student discount. Do not forget, you can always hitch-hike. My friend was able to see Greece, Portugal and many other countries just being a hitchhiker. If everything fails, short trips by bike are always possible :)
Luggage, luggage... Good packing abilities can help you avoid problems. At the airport luggage must be at precise size and weight. Before packing make sure about it. Take only necessary things. I assure that third pair of glasses for a weekend is not needed. Heavy baggage might slow you down. Another important thing with luggage is ... colour. You might be surprised but 90% of travellers use black ones. Than at the airport try to distinguish yours. Clever idea is to buy colourful bags or just add ribbons to yours. Believe me it helps.
Pick up your food. Here don't get me wrong, I do not encourage to take all your fridge with you. Just analyse prices at the aiport e.g. bottle of water 500 ml - 8/10 zł. Take sandwitches and products that don't get rotten easily. My favourites are fruits and juices. Try to avoid restaurants in the city centre. Ask locals. They know everything about delicious and not so expensive food.
Money here, money there. One of the biggest mistakes of tourists is that they don't change the currency. They prefer to pay by credit cards. Unfortunatelly they forget about provision that banks take while doing international transactions. My advice is - search for favourable moment to change the currency and just do it. Another common moment while we lost money is time of souvenirs. They are everywhere and we buy all. Later we realize we don't even want them. Before buying we should ask 3 questions: For who? Is it worth a price? Do we really like it? After answering all questions I am pretty sure most of us will stop ourselves from buying another unuseful product.
The last point is ... enjoy your time. Don't forget you are on holidays. Joy is for free :)
