Viva Tenerife!

Today's topic is ... Tenerife. An adventurous island of archipelago of  Canary Islands where the weather is marvelous all over the year. I don't have to encourage you to go there. Before going to that paradise mind a few things. The island is divided into 2 parts - one with high humidity, colder weather and georgeous flora, second with favourable climate, deserts and with DARK rock beaches. Yes, yes, unfortunatelly most of the beaches are black and rocky there, but it doesn't take any beauty of that place. What attracts me the most is the variety of landscapes - big city skycrapers contrasted with charming village cottages.

What to see at Tenerife? Well, there are so many options. I will start with my favourite places.
At the beginning I advise you to visit "Los Gigantes". Giant cliffs that made the special scenery. It is wise to go there at the morning, less foggy and less crowded.

Another key point will be "Garachico" - lowest point of Tenerife. It's a small town located in the valley 10 meters above sea level. I strongly recommend to go up to the restaurant with balcony viewing at that point.

Turists of Tenerife can't forget about Dragon Tree. Massive dracaena in the middle of charming village called Icod de los Vinos. To go there you must pay additional payment in order to protect that place. Local people are making liquer of dracaenas nearby, but Dragon Tree is kind of saint plant with healing abilities, no wondering if it is 17 m tall and 1000 years old with circumference about 6m! Icos de los Vinos is also called town of white balconies where people can see other astonishing trees.

Why not to visit Los Cristianos? When sightseeing at Tenerife you must come to the city center of night life  - Los Cristianos. There you can find exclusive shops, casinos. During a day you can visit cactus gardens or play mini golf. It's a fantastic place for families.

As we saw individual points of Tenerife, now it's time for daily excursions. The best for me was visiting National Park of Teide. It's a desertic reservate of nature where you can see enormous stone formations. Going up and up you are able to see more plants. Close to the main point - vulcano Teide (covered with snow) you can stop in a peaceful village with breathtaking view of nature where you can grab a cup of delicious coffee. While going there mind what is near your feet. You might spot some friendly lizards which are kind of a symbol of that island.

In order not to get bored with sightseeing, I recommend some fun activity. Siam Park! I have to admit that it was one of the bests water parks I've ever visited. Not only the attractions are exciting but also the precision of how they were made - look at the dragon below. In Siam Park you can find a slide for everyone. Even for those not interested into extreme rides. Starting gently with slow river surrounding the park, ending on 110 m slide down with sharks at the bottom, everything is there. What is more even a beach inside the park is worth seeing. The best part is free transport there. Siam buses are all over the city. So grab your towel, camera and let's go!

Have you ever wonder being in the jungle? Now, you don't have to. Just visit Loro Park. It's massive park like a zoo. Everything is so beautiful. As the animal lover I appreciate how they preserve wild nature. Bengal tiger or turtles from the Galapagos Islands are one of many residents here. If you are into Japanese culture, you can't be in a better place. First thing you see is a pound full of koi carps and a waterfall. Going deeper you are able to find gorillas or even PENGUINS! Such a great experience can't be missed.

There is more in Loro Park than you expected. Shows are for me the most amazing part of the park. There is a schedule of animal shows. Couple times a day 4 events are taking place:

1) Parrots show
2) Dolphins show
3) Seals show
4) Killer whales show

I have never experienced so many emotions while watching animals as I was during those events. How smart and precise they can be. With water animals be prepared for water slush. In order to see those you have to be before scheduled time to take a place. Don't be late, you can't miss any part of it.

I'm a massive fan of Tenerife in general. If you have an opportunity to go there don't hesitate even for a second. I hope you will love the island as much as I do.

See you soon,
Angie
